Kim reached for the light switch in her room once she entered. She always had a thing about the dark. She never liked it. Never felt at ease in it. And once Kim realized that she was alone in the room of total darkness, she couldn't bear it. Had to switch on the lights fast. Then Kim felt something grab her and pull her deeper into the room of total darkness. Kim wanted to scream but she felt a pair of lips engulf hers. Unsure of what was happening and who this person was, Kim struggled to break free. But the person's arms were tight around her waist and had her hands both "subdued". There was really nothing Kim could do to free herself. Kim kept thinking about Jaejoong. Hoping that he'll come back soon enough to save her out of this situation. Kim's eyes started burning up, as she thought about what would happen next. Drops of tears eventually fell from the corners of her eyes.
Jaejoong: Why are you crying baby?
Jaejoong's soothing and caring voice rang through Kim's thoughts. Kim opened her eyes and stared through the darkness. Somehow Kim managed to see a pair of eyes glistening from the limited light that came in front the windows. It was Jaejoong no doubt. Kim felt his hands reach for her face, brushing the tears away. Then he reached for the light switch and the bright lights came on, hurting Kim's tear engulfed eyes, and revealing the face of her "attacker". Kim stared at him in silence. Tears just kept pouring out. She was too glad that it wasn't someone else. And that she was safe. That was probably why Kim couldn't stop myself from crying. From happiness. But one thought circled my mind. How did he manage to come back before her?
Seeing that Kim was still crying, Jaejoong had this very apologetic look in his eyes.
Jaejoong: I'm sorry, I didn't think that it would scare you this much. I just wanted to give you a surprise. I didn't think that you would be so upset …Next time I won't kiss you like that in the dark again….I thought you would recognize that it was me…apparently you didn't…
There was a tint of disappointment when Jaejoong said that. It wasn't that Kim couldn't recognize him. But it was just too much for her to take. Being already phobic about the dark and all. Kim just wasn't thinking straight. But somehow Kim had to do something to make Jaejoong realize that. Kim grabbed Jaejoong's shirt, and reached to place her head on his chest. No response.
Kim: Jaejoong…I know that you had good intentions in mind. But…you must understand that I have a phobia of the dark. What you did just pulled me off my limit, and scared the hell out of me. I couldn't even think optimistically. All I was thinking just now was…
Kim looked up at Jaejoong.
Kim: You. For you to come to my rescue. To save me from this. I don't want you to think otherwise. I want you to know that I'll ALWAYS be YOURS. YOURS, and ONLY YOURS ALONE. I love you.
With that Kim gave Jaejoong a long passionate kiss.
Kim could feel Jaejoong's arms going around her. More and more tight. Then he reached to dim the lights and slowly moved themselves towards the bed. After what seemed like eternity, they separated their interlocking lips. He was still on top of her, fingers interlaced together. They didn't say anything, they just glazed into each others' eyes lovingly. Then he got up suddenly and ran into his room, as if something struck him suddenly. Kim could hear him rummaging through his stuff and after a while he emerged back from the door. His clothes were in a mess, and so was his hair. Kim rolled over onto her stomach and bent her knees.
Kim: What were you looking for? Maybe I can give you a hand? You look a mess now. Come over here, I'll fix you up.
Kim signalled Jaejoong to come over.
As Jaejoong started walking over, the doorbell rang, and he walked over to open the door instead. It seemed to be room service, though Kim couldn't recall myself ordering anything. Jaejoong returned pushing a tray with a bottle of champagne and a bouquet of blue and white roses.
Kim: Wow, my favorite roses! I wonder who ordered them? Was it you?
Kim wanted to get up and go over to take a look at the roses, but Jaejoong took the bouquet and walked over to her. He sat on the bed placing the flowers next to her. Then he took Kim's left hand, interlaced our fingers again.
Jaejoong: I have something that I need to ask you. And I need you to promise me that you'll agree no matter what.
Instinctively speaking, Kim was getting the proposal vibes again. But she didn't put too much thought into it due to the earlier experience.
Kim: Well what is it? I think I'll have to hear what it is before I agree to it.
Jaejoong: I can't say anything unless you agree first.
Kim looked into Jaejoong's eyes. Something really bothered her about the look in his eyes. Kim knew it was serious. So she agreed.
Jaejoong: OK, now I want you to close your eyes.
Kim followed what Jaejoong said. She could hear him move from the bed and the sound of him opening the champagne bottle, pouring some into the glasses. Then he returned to his seat, and interlaced their hands again.
Jaejoong: Now open your eyes slowly...
Kim opened her eyes slowly. It was dark once again. Kim couldn't see where Jaejoong was, but she could feel his hand interlaced with hers. The smell of the roses and the champagne made Kim feel at ease. Then Kim saw a sparkle. A twinkle. She didn't know what that was. At first she thought it was the glasses, but glass wouldn't give such a sparkle in such limited light. What was it?
Jaejoong: Since you said yes just now. I shall have the liberty to honor you with this drink.
Kim felt Jaejoong place the glass in her right hand. He stood up again and left to switch the lights on again.
Kim felt rather insecure without his hand around hers. But knowing that he was physically here helped curb her phobia a bit.
It was beautiful. As the lights slowly came on. Kim saw the full glory of what Jaejoong had given to her. It was a gorgeous diamond ring. The most beautiful one that she had ever seen. Maybe it's because Kim rarely look at such stuff, but it was absolutely heaven to her. Kim looked at Jaejoong. He was standing there looking at her.
Kim: Go on. Drink it.
Kim didn't. In fact, she started crying again. It is just so typical of her. She never stop crying. And Kim always cried at the wrong time. Jaejoong rushed over when he saw her so upset. Sat down beside her and took Kim in his arms.
Jaejoong: Why are you crying now baby? Don't you want this? I thought you wanted to be mine forever.
Kim: Jaejoong…I dunno what to say. Is this too fast? I mean…
Jaejoong: Oh…so all those were lies I see…
Jaejoong let go of Kim and sat away from her.
Not knowing what to do, and thinking that she had offended him somehow, making him think that she was lying all along. Kim moved closer to Jaejoong and placed her hand on his, but he pulled away from Kim.
Kim: Jaejoong…I didn't mean that…I just…I…I…
Kim just couldn’t find the right words to express her feelings. And she thought she made Jaejoong quite angry. When Kim attempted to move closer again, Jaejoong stood up and left the room, slamming the door behind him.
Kim: Jaejoong, WAIT!
Kim rushed after Jaejoong, but the door slammed right in front of her.
Kim's thoughts: I must have blown it this time. He must be so mad that he never would want to see me again.
All kinds of pessimistic thoughts filled Kim's mind, and she was crying uncontrollably. Eventually Kim fell asleep from the crying, and when she woke up she found herself cuddled up on the bed and the pillow was already wet with her tears.
Kim stood up and walked over to the interlocking door. Kim was about to knock but she pondered whether Jaejoong was still angry with her. After some thinking, Kim finally decided to knock anyway. But there was no response. Kim reached to open the door but it was locked. Her heart fell as if burdened by a hundred-ton load.
Kim's thoughts: He REALLY doesn't wanna see me again.
With that thought in Kim's mind, Kim took her stuff and booked out of the room. Leaving a note with the reception for Max to tell him that she was leaving for home. Kim didn't leave anything for Jaejoong. She didn't want to upset him any further. Kim just wanted to end this quickly so that it'll be better for the 2 of them. With that, Kim left the hotel with a heavy and broken heart.
