A week past very quickly...
Jaein packed her things and moved out of the apartment she called home for the past few years. She didn't want to make things difficult for the landlady, so she told her that she had already found a new apartment, when in actual fact she didn't have a place to stay in at all...
Jaein was walking around aimlessly with her luggage in toll. Clueless where she would be sleeping for the night...
She stood looking at the bright lights of the city, hundreds of people walking around shopping and having fun. But no one knew what the other was thinking or feeling. She felt very lonely suddenly... In a city full of people, yet she felt so lonely for the very first time in her life... Cos her parents were gone... She looked up in the sky.
Jaein's thoughts: Dad... Mum... How's life up there? Can you see me now? I miss you so much...
Jaein looked back down and a tear escaped from her eye. She wiped it away from her face and turned around to walk off, accidentally bumping into someone.
Jaein: I'm sorry...
And she wanted to walk off. But the person caught her hand and held her back. She looked up and realised that she had bumped into a group of hooligans. And they were not exactly very friendly looking.
Hooligan 1: Where do you think you are going after knocking into me?!!!
Jaein: I'm sorry... It was an accident... I didn't see you coming when I turned around...
Hooligan 2: Ha ha ha... This girl must be blind to not see the big boss of this area!!!
Jaein: ... I... I'm... really... really... sorry... sorry....
Hooligan 3: Big brother... this girl is quite pretty eh...
They start sniggering and gathering around Jaein. Jaein just stood still and didn't dare to move an inch, as she didn't know what they would do to her if she did.
Jaein (worriedly): Sorry... Sorry for banging into you.... Please... please... let me go...
Hooligan 1: I'll let you off for now... But what is a pretty girl like you doing out here alone so late at night huh? Shouldn't someone be accompanying you?
Jaein: Huh?
Hooligan 1 took the chance and grabbed Jaein into his arms. Jaein was shocked but she tried to push him away, but he was too strong.
Jaein: LET ME GO!!!! LET ME GO!!!! HELP!!! SOMEBODY HELP ME!!!!
As it was already quite late, the streets were already quite sparse and the passerbys were already quite far to hear her screams. And the cars driving by didn't even notice her being harassed by this group of hooligans as they had formed a circle around her.
Suddenly...
Jaejoong: Let her go. Now.
Everyone turned around and looked at Jaejoong. He was a few feet away from the hooligans and he was walking very calmly towards them. Jaein's eyes lit up with hope when she saw him, and tried to push the hooligan away from her for one last time, but to no avail.
Hooligan 3: Just who do you think you are? Talking to my big boss like this...
The hooligans gather around Jaejoong, with one still holding onto Jaein.
Jaein's thoughts: Oh no... Don't hurt him... He's just trying to help me...
No doubt, hooligan 3 threw a punch at Jaejoong, who nimbly caught his arm and twisted it, making him cry out in pain, before punching him and making him falling onto the ground. Then hooligan 2 launched a punch towards Jaejoong too, but clumsily fell onto the floor instead, and staggered to get up before being punched by Jaejoong too. They continued to fight back for a few times, but in the end they were both knocked out by Jaejoong.
With both his sidekicks knocked out, hooligan 1 grabbed Jaein by the neck, when Jaejoong started walking towards him.
Hooligan 1: Don't you dare come any closer... I'll break her neck...
Jaejoong ignored him and continued walking.
Jaejoong: Do it if you dare... And I'll make sure you'll suffer 100 times more than what you did to her...
With that remark, Jaejoong cracked his knuckles menacingly and immediately the hooligan 1 let go of Jaein and pushed her away, making her fall onto the floor, and fleeing the scene for his dear life, with his sidekicks struggling after him.
Jaejoong walked over to Jaein and squatted down beside her.
Jaejoong: Are you okay?
Jaein nodded her head and tried to push herself up to a standing position. An excruciating pain shot through her ankle.
Jaein: AHHHH...
She stumbled a bit and fell back down. She grabbed her ankle in pain. Jaejoong took her hand away and took off her shoe to examine her ankle. He pressed her ankle lightly.
Jaein (painfully): OUCH!!! Don't touch my ankle!!!
Jaein retracted her ankle away from Jaejoong, grabbing the shoe from his hand, and putting her shoe back on.
Jaejoong: What are you doing out here at this time of the night alone? Shouldn't you be home?
Jaein's thoughts (sadly): I don't have a home anymore now...
There was an awkward silence. Then Jaein broke the silence by trying to stand up again.
Jaein: I'll be on my way now... Thanks for helping me just now...
Jaejoong: Where do you think you are going?
Jaein: Home...
Jaejoong (sarcastically and demandingly): Home?
Jaein: Yeah...
Jaejoong: Then why are you lugging your luggage around if you are going home?
Jaein was pissed with his sarcastic tone and even though she had felt grateful to him just a few minutes before. She felt like giving him a punch right now for talking to her like this.
Jaein: Don't worry... I won't bother you or your parents...
Jaejoong: Who said I give a damn about what you do? It's none of my business... It's my parents who are forcing me to bring you home with me...
Jaein: Well thank them for me, but I'll settle my own life...
Jaein turned and tried to walk away limping.
Jaejoong's thoughts: Aish~ this girl is more troublesome that I thought... If I don't bring her back tonight, my parents will nag at me non-stop...
Jaejoong dashed forward and grabbed Jaein's luggage from her.
Jaein: HEY! GIVE IT BACK TO ME!
Jaejoong: No. You're coming with me.
Jaejoong swiped Jaein off her feet into his arms, making her too shocked for words for a moment.
Jaein: PUT ME DOWN!!! I'M NOT GOING WITH YOU!!! PUT ME DOWN!!!
Jaejoong ignored her shouting and struggling and walked with her in his arms and luggage in toll towards his car.
Once in the car, Jaein tried to get off. But before she could walk out, Jaejoong saw her move, and started the car, driving off. Making her close the door in surprise to prevent being thrown off the car.
They drove back to the house in silence. Jaein was mad with Jaejoong for forcing her to go with her. Jaejoong was mad with Jaein for causing so much trouble for him.
