Yuri's thoughts: J? Who's that? Did someone place this flower wrongly at my doorstep?
Yuri looked around the corridor and there was no one to be seen. She left the flower back where it was and left for work.

After her work, Yuri went back home and found the flower still at her doorstep. No one had claimed it yet, or taken it away.
Yuri's thoughts: Strange... Can't be for me...
*Ring ring*
Her phone rang. She took a glance at the caller id. It was Roy. She really didn't feel like talking to him right now. Or rather ever again. But he was very persistent. He called again when she didn't pick up her phone.
Yuri: Yoboseyo...
Roy: Yuri-ah... why didn't you answer my calls just now? Are you angry with me for not meeting you yesterday?
Yuri: Anio...
Roy: Then... what's wrong?
Yuri: *sighs* Roy... I think it's better that we not see each other anymore... Cos I think that you've some misunderstanding about me...
Roy: Misunderstanding?
Yuri: Yeah... I don't think I am the kind of person you are looking for... So I think it's best that we don't see each other anymore...
Roy: What do you mean? I thought you liked me?
Yuri: Yes... I... did... But... not... any... more... you won't be able to get what you want from me... I'm just not that kind of person... so I don't think you should waste anymore of your time on me... but spend it on others who can give you what you want...
Roy: But...
Yuri cut the line before Roy could finish what he wanted to say.
Roy's thoughts: But... you are... what I want... and need.... I've... I've... already subconsciously fallen for you... I... I love you...

Jaejoong: Hyung...
Roy turned around to see Jaejoong walking towards him.
Roy: Joongie, what are you doing here?
Jaejoong: Hyung... she saw you with your target last night...
Roy: WHAT???!!!! SO SHE KNOWS THAT I AM A VAMPIRE??? HOW MUCH DID SHE SEE????
Roy grasped Jaejoong by his shoulders and shoke his brother violently.
Jaejoong: Calm down hyung.... I don't know... but I don't think she knows that you're a vampire... cos she was crying the whole of last night...
Roy: *phew*... but wait... that means she saw me with...
Jaejoong: Yeah... I think she saw you fucking your target... and probably thinks that you're just after her for sex and nothing else... that's why she ran off crying...
Roy: *sighs* I guess we're both losers in the bet then... and we lost miserably too...
Jaejoong: I know...
Roy: *sigh* well... I'll head off then.... you wanna join me at the club later?
Jaejoong: Maybe later... after I finish some stuff...
Roy: Alright then... See ya...
Roy took one last look at Yuri's apartment, and walked off dejectedly. Jaejoong watched as his brother walked away. After making sure that he was totally gone, he went into Yuri's block. He noticed the white lily still on her doorstep.
Jaejoong's thoughts: She's so upset, she doesn't even believe that this is for her anymore...
Jaejoong took out another white lily which he had hid inside his jacket and placed it on her doorstep beside the first one. Again he had tied a note on the stalk.
Jaejoong's thoughts: I hope you get better soon... this is the least I can do for you... to make up for all the pain and trouble that I've caused you as a result of my thoughtless bet...
Jaejoong left the flower and left the building to join Roy at the club.

After that day, Yuri found a stalk of white lily on her doorstep every morning when she left for work. At first she thought it was a prank, but they still remained at her doorstep when she came back from work everyday. After a week, the flowers were piling on her doorstep, so she decided to take them in to prevent them from dying.
Just like this, Yuri started taking in the flowers everyday. Day by day passed. And slowly she had already forgotten her pain from breaking up with Roy. All she could think about was - who was the mysterious person sending her flowers everyday? And how did he or she know that she was upset? The note was the same everyday, so the person must know that she wasn't happy. And when was all these going to stop? When she became truly happy? And when would that be? How will that person know when it happens?
She had so many questions in her mind that she couldn't answer. After a month of receiving the flowers, she decided to respond back by leaving a note for the mystery person.
Dear J,
I don't know who you are, and how you know so much about me.
But thanks for all your flowers and notes.
They have really brightened up my days.
But you don't have to do this anymore, as I am already feeling much better now.

When Jaejoong saw Yuri's note back to him, he was surprised. He didn't expect anything from her. He just wanted to make her feel happy again. Before they barged into her life.

One note was followed by another reply, and soon they were conversing via the small notes left on Yuri's doorstep. And the more replies Yuri got, the more curious she was about who this mysterious J was. She wasn't even sure if it was a female or male. But one day the lilies suddenly stopped...
She found herself wondering why the lilies had stopped, when she still wasn't back to her old self yet. She wondered if something had happened to J. She left notes to J that were never returned.
After a week of no lilies or notes, Yuri was about to give up to the fact that it was another prank that some neighbourhood kids were playing on her. She got off work as usual and returned home.
After she switched on her apartment lights, she got a call from her friend who was around the neighbourhood and wanted to meet up to pass something to her. She left her apartment lights on and left to meet her friend.

*Flashback to a day before the week where no lilies were sent*
Jaejoong was hanging out with some of the fellow vampires at a new club when a rival gang of vampires came by. One of his vampire friends got into a scuffle with another vamp from the rival gang over a target and there was animosity in the air. Jaejoong had to step in and interfere to stop a fight from breaking out in the club. The rival gang knew that Jaejoong was of blue blood lineage, so they did not dare to offend him outrightly.
However, after the gang disperse and left with their respective targets. Jaejoong didn't have one tonight. As he hasn't been able to bring himself to find one, eversince he witnessed Yuri crying when she saw Roy with his target. So instead he feeds on the blood supply from blood banks which were exclusive for the blue bloods instead. Tonight was no different. So he left alone while the rest went about getting their blood supply.
Little did he know that the rival gang was stalking him secretly. He was too deep in his thoughts to notice. So once the rest of his vampire friends were gone, the rival gang came out and cornered him.
Since he was of blue blood, he was much stronger than them, but with 10 over vampires ganging up against him, he was getting more and more tired by the minute. And when one of them, the head, tried to pierce a dagger through his heart, while he was busy dealing with the others, he just managed to grab the dagger just in time before it touched his heart. He garnered the last of his strength and pushed everyone away from him before flying off into the night. The rest of the vampires couldn't fly as they were not blue blood, so they could not give chase.
Jaejoong fled back to the lair and collapsed on the porch after banging on the door. Fortunately the housekeeper heard the banging and went to take a look, and found him lying on the porch unconscious and bleeding.
For the next days Jaejoong lied unconscious in bed, while being fed continuously with blood from the blood bank supply to aid his recovery. When he finally gained consciousness, it was already a week later.
Funny how the first thing that came to his mind, was not how to seek revenge. But instead he worried over not having sent lilies to Yuri for a week, and how to make up for the week that he didn't send lilies to Yuri. Because throughout the entire week when he was unconscious, he kept dreaming of Yuri crying in front of him. It was then that he realised that he had already subconsciously fallen for her through their conversations via the notes.
The moment he could get off bed, he left for the florist's to get a week's worth of lilies for Yuri.
*End of flashback*
