Jaejoong's thoughts: I'd better go now... Since she's asleep already... I can sneak off...
He turned to walk off.
Yuri: Thanks for everything... J...
Jaejoong turned around when he heard Yuri's voice. She was still awake, but had closed her eyes to rest while waiting for him.
She smiled at him weakly when he faced her. Jaejoong stood grounded to where he was. He didn't know how and what to respond to her. But when he realised that what he had been doing was being appreciated by Yuri. He felt a huge sense of satisfaction. He smiled back at her and turned to leave again.
Yuri: Wait...
Jaejoong turned back around.
Yuri: I haven't got your name yet...
Jaejoong: Kim Jaejoong.... My name is Kim Jaejoong....
Yuri: Hi... Nice to meet you, Jaejoong... I don't know how you know so much about me... So you should know my name is Yuri... And thanks for everything...
Jaejoong: No problem... If there's nothing else... I'll leave first... And let you rest... Yuri: Actually... there is... something... I was wondering... If you'd like to have dinner with me after I get discharged... I'd like to thank you for everything...
Jaejoong stared at Yuri in disbelief. She was asking him out for dinner on her own account! He was so happy. But he pretended to be cool about her invite.
Jaejoong: You don't have to really... I did it on my own accord... Yuri: If you don't accept my invite, I'd feel bad for taking in all the lilies... Jaejoong (cutting her short): All right then... I'll accept your invite...
Yuri smiled back at Jaejoong.
Yuri: Let me get your contact number so I can contact you when I get discharged to make arrangements.
At last, Jaejoong managed to get Yuri's number, and this was after a long detour. He cherished it even more than before.

Yuri and Jaejoong started going out regularly eversince the thank-you dinner. Jaejoong would still send her a lily everyday, even though she was almost entirely back to her original bubbly self. He had gotten so used to doing it that he felt weird when he stopped once, when she asked why he didn't stop sending her lilies. After that day, he went back to sending her a lily a day.
Strictly speaking, they were not dating at all, even though they went out regularly. Jaejoong never told Yuri that he loved her. And neither did Yuri make any indication that she liked Jaejoong too, so Jaejoong, whom did not wish to spoil their current friendship, always stayed in his role of the loyal and caring friend that Yuri could rely on whenever she needed help.
And Jaejoong relished every opportunity given by Yuri to be with her. He was becoming more and more taken by Yuri everytime he met her. The better he got to know her, the harder it was for him to bid goodbye to her when it was time to part, cos he was falling deeper and deeper in love with her. But he did not dare to let her know, he kept his feelings hidden, for fear of causing her pain, and also losing her friendship.
Once he had sent Yuri back home and she had already went up to her apartment, he still hang around downstairs for a few hours till all the lights in her apartment went off. When he left, he felt like a complete idiot for doing so, as he could hardly see Yuri walking around the apartment, all he could see were her lit windows. At least, if he could see her, it would have been more worth it, but he could not at all. He just stuck around hoping to catch a glimpse of her. Completely like some lovelorn fool....

One evening...
Yuri had arranged to meet her girlfriends at a new club in town. So even though Jaejoong had asked if she could meet him, she could not. She was late due to work, and was queueing alone to get into the club when Jaejoong's rival gang of vampires came by.
Immediately they spotted the scent of Yuri's virgin blood, and the gang leader whispered to his gang members his plan to capture Yuri...
When they all got into the club, they hovered near Yuri waiting for a chance to make their move. When her friends left her alone to dance, a group of them pretended to bump into her table, and spilled the drinks onto her. She had to excuse herself to go clean herself up. When she left for the restroom, they grabbed her and took her out from the backdoor. Yuri struggled and tried to scream but they had already covered her mouth with their hand and they were simply too strong for her.
They pushed Yuri to the ground once they were outside. And the whole gang gathered around her.
Yuri (worriedly): What are you doing? Who are you guys?
The gang leader walked out from the shadows and towards Yuri.
Gang leader: Isn't it obvious?
He grabbed Yuri's jaw and tilted her face towards him. He leaned forward nearer to Yuri. Yuri closed her eyes in disgust. She felt him lick her cheek.
Yuri: ARGHHH!!! YOU'RE DISGUSTING!!! LET ME GO!!!!
Yuri pushed his hand away and attempted to run away from him. But the other gang members formed a human circle around and blocked her way.
Gang leader: HA HA HA HA HA.... You can run.... But you can't escape.... You're trapped... my dear... And you're mine.... tonight...
Yuri stared at him in horror, as he flashed his vampire fangs, she couldn't even scream. She was too shocked that vampires actually existed in this day and age. The rest of the gang members laughed together with their leader, and flashed their fangs, pretending to snap at Yuri when she was near them. Yuri tried to run from them but ended up being cornered and pushed towards their gang leader.
Gang leader: Ha ha ha ha... See what I mean? You're back where you started...
He grabbed Yuri around her waist and pulled her towards him.
Gang leader: Now... let's not waste anymore time... I can't wait to taste your virgin blood....
He lowered his mouth to Yuri's neck and his fangs were all ready to sink into her skin...
Jaejoong (angrily): WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING!!!!
Everyone looked up to see who the voice came from. Jaejoong walked out from the shadows and approached the group.
Yuri: JAEJOONG!!!
Yuri's thoughts: No... don't come over... they're vampires... they'll kill you too... I can't let him risk his life...
Gang leader: Well well well... what do we have here???
The gang leader let go of Yuri and held her by her arm.
Yuri: JAEJOONG!!! RUN!!! DON'T COME OVER!!! THEY ARE VAMPIRES!!! SAVE YOURSELF!!!
But Jaejoong ignored Yuri's screams and continued walking over. He was so angry that they were trying to hurt Yuri that his eyes had already turned blood red with anger. The members were so surprised to see him, and they could see that his eyes were already blood red with anger, that they moved away when he walked towards them, opening a path for Jaejoong to get to Yuri.
Jaejoong (angrily): What do you think you are doing? HOW DARE YOU WHEN I AM AROUND!!!
Yuri was surprised by how angry Jaejoong looked, she had never seen him this angry before, especially when she had just asked him to leave as it was dangerous. It seemed that he had totally not heard or registered what she had just screamed out to him.
Yuri (confused and worried): Jaejoong!!! Don't come any closer!!! Run for your life!!! They are vampires!!! DO YOU HEAR ME??!!! VAMPIRES!!! RUN!!!
Yuri struggled to break free from the gang leader's grip on her arm. But he was too strong for her.
Yuri (desperately): OUCH!!! LET GO OF ME!!!
Jaejoong was so angry to see him hurting Yuri that his eyes glared even angrier at the gang leader.
Jaejoong: Let go of her now. Or else...
Gang leader: Or else what??? You're gonna fight us all??? Have you forgotten how you've ran away after almost losing your life in our hands??? You're not our match.... Not when we're in a gang together... Ha ha ha... her blood is mine tonight... there's no way you are going to take her away from me... You're too weak...
Yuri (confused): What do you mean?? Jaejoong... what's happening??? What is he talking about???
Gang leader: Ha ha ha... So... she doesn't know....
Jaejoong: She's not part of this... Let her go... And we'll settle our score now... One-on-one...
Gang leader: Not interested in that now.... I want her precious virgin blood... NOW...
Yuri's thoughts: Settle our scores.... Don't tell me he's a vampire too?
Jaejoong: Alright then... You'll have to defeat me first... Cos she is mine...
Yuri's thoughts: His???!!! He IS a vampire!!! And he's been plotting his plan to get my blood all along!!!
Yuri's heart sank when she realised the bitter reality. Tears welled in her eyes, But she forced them back, as the gang leader let his members take Yuri aside while he fought Jaejoong.
Yuri's thoughts: I've been used again... How many times do I need to be duped before I die??? Can't they just kill me once and for all and not make me suffer so many times??!!!
Yuri's blank and emotionless face made the gang members wonder why she wasn't struggling anymore. They flashed their fangs in front of her in an attempt to scare her.
Yuri (frustratedly): GET AWAY FROM ME!!!
Yuri shouted at members and flunged her arms angrily trying to break free from them. Both the gang leader and Jaejoong stopped to look over at her sudden outburst.
The members became angry at her for shouting at them, so they slapped her across her face continuously to quieten her down, leaving red palm marks on her face and bleeding lips. Jaejoong saw them hit Yuri and wanted to go over and help her, but the gang leader realised that he wasn't paying attention and stabbed him strongly in his stomache, making him fall to the ground in pain.
Gang leader: I told you you weren't our match... And thanks to her for distracting you... It's gonna be an easier task killing you than I thought... Then I can enjoy her blood...
Roy: You wished... You're not gonna have it so easily...
Roy and Takeshi emerged from the shadows.
Takeshi: There's still two of us...
Jaejoong (painfully): Hyungs...
Yuri stared in shock when she recognised Roy walking beside another guy older than him.
Yuri's thoughts: Roy... He's also...
At this point in time, Yuri couldn't take the shock and pain anymore. She passed out.
Gang members: YA YA YA!!!! HEY!!! WAKE UP!!! WAKE UP!!!
Everyone looked over at Yuri's direction.
Jaejoong: YURI!!!
He struggled to get up. Roy and Takeshi came over and helped him up to get over to Yuri. The gang members put Yuri down hurriedly when they saw them approaching. Jaejoong got over to Yuri and kneed down beside her, grabbing her into his arms.
Jaejoong (worriedly): YURI!!! WAKE UP!!! ARE YOU ALRIGHT??!!! WAKE UP!!!
He looked over angrily at the two gang members who were holding Yuri earlier.
Jaejoong (furiously): I'M GONNA KILL YOU TWO!!!
Takeshi (calmly): Joongie... calm down... let us handle them...
Jaejoong: But hyung...
Roy: Joongie, you just take care of Yuri okay? She needs you now...
