Months passed by, and Kiyoko's tummy started showing, so she was made to rest at home most of the time, to avoid any gossip. Things that needed to be signed were brought to her at home, and sent back to office by her housekeeper. Kiyoko wanted to name the baby after Hero's surname Kim, so that Hero would have an offspring to carry after his name. And also to prevent Sung Soo from ever finding out.
She was 6 months into her pregnancy, and one day she wanted to go shopping for things for her baby. It was an impromptu decision, so she went alone without any guards, as her dad had taken them with him out on a business dinner.
It was evening by the time Kiyoko was done shopping. Kiyoko was turning into the side alley towards her car when suddenly she heard a scream. She turned to look in the direction of the scream, and a man came running towards her, and he knocked into her. Kiyoko's mind blanked out and she tried hard to regain balance, but it all happened too fast. She fell onto the floor with her shopping bags, and her baby's shopping fell out. A woman came running towards her.
Woman (worriedly): Are you okay?
Kiyoko (pondering): I think I'm okay...
Woman (hurriedly): I'm sorry I can't help you now, cos that man just snatched away my handbag, I need to go after him!!!
Kiyoko (forcing a smile): It's okay... Go ahead...
The woman ran off, and Kiyoko tried to get up by herself. That's when she felt a sharp pain in her tummy. When she tried to move herself again, she felt a thick viscious fluid spiral down her inner thighs.
Kiyoko's thoughts: Blood... Oh no... my baby...
Kiyoko sat on the ground grasping her tummy in pain. She scrambled through the mess of fallen shopping to look for her handbag, and for her handphone to call for help. As it was already evening time, there wasn't a soul walking on the roads. Moreover, she was at the side alley. The pain was unbearable, and she couldn't find her phone. She shouted out weakly for help, hoping of any chance of any passer-bys hearing her and come to her aid.

Sung Soo had just finished meeting Haru and Peach at Emo, and was walking to his car when he heard a weak voice calling out. He followed the source of the voice and noticed a pregnant woman sitting on the floor, with scattered belongings, grasping her tummy in pain. He ran towards her immediately.
Sung Soo (worriedly): Ma'am... Are you okay?
Kiyoko looked up with effort when she heard Sung Soo's voice. Sung Soo's eyes opened wide with surprise when he realised that the pregnant lady was Kiyoko.
Sung Soo (shocked): KIYOKO??!!!
Kiyoko (painfully): Sung-soo-san... please... save... my... baby...
Sung Soo scooped her into his arms, and rushed her towards his car, and drove her to her hospital. He paced worriedly outside the operating theatre when Kiyoko was inside. He was quite worried, as she had lost a lot of blood, and his car seat was stained red when he carried her out.
Suddenly the operating theatre door swung open, and the doctor came out. Sung Soo rushed up to the doctor.
Sung Soo (worriedly): How is she? Is she okay?
Doctor: She's lost a lot of blood, but thankfully you got her here in time...
Sung Soo (breathing a sigh of relief): Thank god... But her baby?
Doctor (regrettably): I'm sorry... But there's nothing that we could do to save the baby... It's gone...
Sung Soo (sadly): Does she know yet?
Doctor: Not yet... She's still under anesthetic... It'll take about an hour or so before she will wake up.
Sung Soo: I understand... Thank you, doctor...
An unconscious Kiyoko was pushed out from the theatre, and Sung Soo followed as she was being transfered to a normal ward. Once she was settled down, he left the hospital and drove back to where he found her, and got all her things back for her. He left all her shopping in his car, as he did not want the things to remind her of the baby. He only took her handbag and handphone into her ward. He sat by her bedside, watching her as she slept, not so peacefully. She looked like she was having a nightmare.
Sung Soo's thoughts: I wonder when did she get married? She was still single when I last came... And now she's so heavily with child... How can her husband let her go out alone like this? I'd never...
Kiyoko (agitatedly): Nooo....
Kiyoko awoke with beads of perspiration on her forehead. And the first thing she saw was Sung Soo seated by her bedside staring at her mutedly. Immediately, she touched her tummy, and it was flat.
Kiyoko (grabbing Sung Soo anxiously): My baby... where's my baby?!!!
Sung Soo grabbed Kiyoko by her shoulders to try to calm her down.
Sung Soo (calmly): Kiyoko... You have to calm down... You just had an operation... You're still weak...
Kiyoko (grabbing Sung Soo's arms tightly, and staring at Sung Soo with worry): SUNG SOO... MY BABY!!! IS IT ALRIGHT? WHERE IS MY BABY???!!!
Sung Soo: It's gone... The doctor said there's nothing that they could do to save the baby...
Kiyoko's face changed, her arms loosened their grip on Sung Soo and fell back to the bed. Compared to the agitated Kiyoko a moment ago, she seemed overly calm and quiet when she heard the news. Sung Soo was even more worried this way.
Sung Soo: Kiyoko?
Kiyoko (lying back down onto the bed): Sung Soo-san... Thanks for all your help... You should go back to rest now... It's late... You must be tired...
Sung Soo (with concern): But...
Kiyoko: I'll be fine... I just need to rest now... Don't worry...
Sung Soo (reluctantly): Alright... I'll visit you again tomorrow...
Sung Soo turned to leave. Just as he was at the door, he turned to take another glance at Kiyoko. She was already lying with her back faced to him.
Sung Soo: Do you want me to give your husband a call?
Kiyoko: It's okay... I'll call him later myself...
Sung Soo: Alright... Take care... Good night...
Sung Soo left the ward and headed back. On his drive back, he glanced at the bags of baby stuff at his back seat, which was stained red with Kiyoko's blood. He sighed sadly.

Back at the ward...
Once Sung Soo stepped out of the ward, Kiyoko started crying non-stop. She was so excited about the baby's arrival, and now it's gone. Just like that. And to hear Sung Soo ask her about calling her husband. She could not help but laugh at how fate is making a fool of her. The father of her child is the one who sent her to hospital, and witnessed the demise of their child. But he didn't even know that it was his child who had just died...
