*Flashback continuation*
Kiyoko's birthday...
Kiyoko woke up bright and early as she was excited for the first time in her life to celebrate her birthday. She wanted to know what Hero got for her birthday. She was curious.
She hurriedly got herself ready and popped her head out of her room door.
Kiyoko (cheerfully): OHAIYO!!!
Hero was nowhere to be seen. She walked over to his room beside hers. He was also not there. She went downstairs and preparations were in the way for the evening's birthday party. But no Hero.
In fact, she walked through the entire house, garden, yard, pool, etc. She couldn't find him anywhere.
It was time for the party, but Kiyoko was not happy at all. She was disappointed that her only friend Hero wasn't around to celebrate it with her as promised. She had cooped herself up in her room the entire day.
Kiyoko slipped out of the house and wandered around the streets aimlessly. She spotted Hero walking into a disco with a group of friends. She followed him in. He was drinking with his friends. And even went to dance with a few sexy girls on the dance floor. He was totally enjoying himself, laughing and smiling happily. Kiyoko was furious. She stormed up to him and grabbed him away from the girls. He was shocked by the sudden move. But when he realised that it was Kiyoko. He pushed her away. She fell onto the floor from his push.
Hero (arrogantly): Go home brat... Don't come and spoil my fun...

Kiyoko (laughing bitterly): You're a liar just like the rest... I'm just a fool to believe you genuinely wanted to be my friend... Or even cared for me...
Kiyoko got up.
Kiyoko: So... THIS is my birthday present? I'LL ALWAYS REMEMBER IT, THANKS A LOT!
She ran out of the disco, her tears falling uncontrollably as she ran and ran and ran until she had no more strength. She hid in a small alley and cried until she felt asleep. She woke up a few hours later to a nasty stench, and found her limbs bound, her mouth gagged, and in an unfamiliar room.
Kiyoko's thoughts (panicking): OH NO, KIDNAPPERS!!! SOMEBODY, HELP!!!
The next thing she knew, the door was kicked open, and when the light shone through she could only see the silhouette of the person coming in.
Hero (panting while he untied her limbs): Are you hurt?
Kiyoko shoke her head.
Hero (gratefully): Thank god.
Hero scooped her into his arms and carried her out of the room. Kiyoko saw 2 men (mostly the kidnappers) knocked out in the room outside, and their limbs were bound. She turned back to look at Hero.

Kiyoko (shivering): How did you manage to find me?
Hero settled her on the back of his motorbike, put on a helmet for her, got on and drove her back to her house. He carried her up to her room, put her down in the toilet for a bath before turning to leave.
Kiyoko: You never answered my question... How did you manage to find me?
Hero (back facing Kiyoko): You don't need to know...
Hero stepped out of her room, and went to take a shower in his own room. Once refreshed, he stood outside Kiyoko's room on guard.

*SCREAM*
Hero dashed into Kiyoko's room, when he heard her scream. She was crying in her bed. He stepped beside her.
Hero (on high alert): Everything okay?
Kiyoko looked up at him. He was surveying her room for intruders.
Kiyoko (sobbing): It's nothing... Just a nightmare...
He looked at Kiyoko. Her eyes were filled with tears, and body was shivering from fear.
Hero: If there's nothing, I'll take my leave then...
Kiyoko: Wait... Can't you stay here with me tonight?
Hero took another step towards the door. Kiyoko jumped off her bed and hugged him from the back.
Kiyoko (voice wavering from crying and fear): Am I so hateful that you don't even want to anywhere near me for one more second?
Hero pulled her arms off him. Kiyoko looked down in defeat.
Kiyoko: I understand.. I'm the girl who has EVERYTHING... But am NOTHING when compared to those girls at the disco...
Hero turned to face Kiyoko.
Hero: You're right... You are NOTHING like them...
Kiyoko felt her heart fall and break into a million pieces. Hearing him say it hurt a million more times than anyone else. She bit her lip and continued looking down.
Hero: You mean SO MUCH MORE to me...
Kiyoko looked up in surprise. Hero moved closer to her, grabbing her shoulders.
Hero: I've grown so close to you that I cannot imagine a day without seeing you in my life... I shouldn't have said such harsh words to you... It's all my fault... But by the time I ran after and found you, the kidnappers were already taking you away, I was too late... I was driven crazy with worry. My mind kept running wild on thoughts of never seeing you again... And my heart felt like it was being smashed into bits... That's why I went ahead to give chase without any back-up... I know it's a bad idea, and I could have gotten both of us killed... But I couldn't bear a moment of you being alone with those thugs... I... I'm sorry...

Hero pulled Kiyoko into his arms, hugging her tightly.
Kiyoko (sobbing): I... I thought... you hated me...
Hero pulled away to look at Kiyoko.
Hero (warmly): Silly girl... I can barely stop myself from wanting to be near you... How can I bring myself to hate a princess like you who has a heart of gold?
Hero leaned in closer to Kiyoko, wanting to kiss her. Then he pulled away just before their lips touch, cos he remembered what Kiyoko's dad said.
Kiyoko (surprised): What's wrong? You're leaving?
Hero (awkwardly): I shouldn't be saying all these to you... Sir...
Kiyoko reached for Hero's hand and held it in hers, walking over to face him.
Kiyoko: Forget about my dad... It's MY birthday today... MY wishes reign supreme today... What's more... He isn't here now... AND you haven't even wished me yet... OR given me my present...
Hero (smiling): Yes my princess... Let me go get it for you now...
Hero let go of Kiyoko's hand and went to get her present from his room. Kiyoko sat back on her bed to wait for him, barely able to contain her excitement from Hero's sudden love profession. When he came back into her room, his hands were hidden behind him. He had a cheeky look on his face, as he walked slowly back to Kiyoko's side.
Kiyoko (excitedly): Come on...Quick... give it to me...
Hero (taking the gift from behind him out): Happy birthday... My princess...
He gave the gift to Kiyoko and after she took it, he leaned in and kissed her softly on her cheek, which made her blush a deep shade of pink.
